Amity Publications Limited (Amity Books) is a newly-formed company dedicated to producing original fiction for pre and young teenagers.
The Company is registered in, and operates from, the Isle of Man and its book illustrator and translator are Manx-based.
The books will be dual-languaged in both English and Manx and will be particularly tailored to the needs of those children whose study curriculum includes the learning of the Manx language. The books are also intended to meet the aims and objectives of the Manx Government’s “National Development Strategy for Culture and the Arts” through the IOM Arts Council and Culture Vannin.
The Company’s initial publishing venture is producing the first four of what will be a series of “Tom and Charlie” books. They feature the adventures of Tom, who has made friends with a feisty spheniscidian character, Charlie, from his local zoo. As the stories unfold, Charlie proudly introduces Tom to his seriously weird and diverse gang of animal associates.
